Raglan Road Church, Birmingham,

Who is invited
Anyone who is aspiring or interested in being a man after Gods heart.

What’s it all about:
We will be focusing on Jesus, particularly on his motivations and his character. We will be exploring how we can be the men we know God wants us to be by building on the solid rock that is Christ.
Who’s speaking:

Mike Parting on Servanthood
In a time when self promotion and self interest dominate the secular world, it is easy to forget that as men it is our call to serve. To serve our families, our churches and our communities. Jesus said that he himself came to serve and this session will unpack what that means formen today.

Mike is married with two children and a grandson. He is an elder at Early Christian Fellowship in Reading and has worked in Human Resource management for over 20 years. He has a passion for seeing Men developing Godly character to serve God in the local church.

Bob Chamberlin on Responsibility

Many men seek to avoid responsibility, seeing it as burden that they would rather not carry, yet Jesus showed us that if we wish to be of value in the Kingdom of God we as men need to be prepared to take responsibility, being strong and dependable, willing to stand when others would give up. This session looks at the spiritual and practical principles involved in taking responsibility.

Bob is married with three children and 1 granddaughter. He is an elder at Holborn Church in Leeds and has worked extensively in China running a leadership development programme.

Paul Cross on Discipline

Discipline is a subject which makes many men uncomfortable. This session challenges us with the reality and importance of discipline if we wish to really grow as spiritual men.

Paul is married with 3 boys and now has 3 grandsons. He is the leader of the River Church in Orpington, Kent and has a gift in discipling men. Paul has an excellent understanding of what it means to lead a disciplined life.

David Vine on Love

The bible says that without love we are nothing and that love never fails. This session looks at what real love is all about, examining how love is more than just romantic sentiments but a passionate will for others to grow in their faith.

David is married with 4 children. He is the leader of the Longcroft Christian Fellowship in the Wirral. He has spent many years as a GP as well as a being a trustee of the IMP mission organisation and a trustee of the New life conference.

Accommodation:
To keep the cost low we will be sleeping on the floor of the church (carpeted) so please bring a sleeping bag and mat. There is accommodation available in homes for those whose years of “roughing” it on the church floor have now passed.
